Para-Educarer / State Registered Nurse
Main job responsibility is to support teachers in the care and development of infants in the infant care centre. They assist teachers when conducting lessons and activities.
The greatest value-add of para personnel is the possibility of working as a team with the teacher to enhance the quality of adult-child interaction in plays and activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the teacher to monitor and provide care to the infants in the nursery, during meal times and other activities; or may monitor the class when teacher is otherwise occupied.

Assist the teacher in preparing for activities.

Make quick, responsible decisions regarding children’s welfare and safety.

Assist the teacher to develop individual instructional materials, utilize reference and source for materials;

Provide administrative support for infants’ development record and updating log book as required.

Assist the teachers in any other daily operational tasks.
Experience, Qualifications and Training Requirement:

Above 21 years old;
-
Has the Fundamentals in Early Childhood Care and Education Course (FECCE);

Has a valid first aid certificate recognised by ECDA; and

Has at least 1 year experience in a child care/ infant care setting.
OR
-
Is a State Registered Nurse (SRN);

Has the Certificate in Infant Care/ Higher Certificate in Infant Care

Has registered with ECDA and attained the EY1 certification
Knowledge and Skills Required:
-
Demonstrate good active communicative skills

Adequate knowledge of current early childhood care and education development theories, research and practices

Ability to interact with peers, children, parents, and others in an open friendly business-like manner.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few known variables in routine situations.
